OnePlus 2 Android update: where is Oxygen OS 2.1?

The OnePlus 2 Android update to Oxygen OS 2.0.2, which started rolling out over-the-air (OTA) on September 1, is reportedly breaking as many things as it fixes. While it has resolved a few problems, OnePlus 2 users are now looking forward to the OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 2.1 update to fix the newest bugs. Read on for details of the latest OnePlus 2 Android update.

When the Oxygen OS 2.0.2 update was announced at the start of September, it was intended to improve fingerprint scanner accuracy, bring some stability to the front-facing camera, fix a bug that unintentionally muted volume, and add a few new UX components to the camera app’s preview pane.

So far so good. But several problems have been reported as a result of installing the update to Oxygen OS 2.0.2, including battery drain, new fingerprint scanner issues, poor quality images from the front-facing camera, and broken third-party camera apps. The Stagefright patch went out on August 21.

OnePlus assures us that the Oxygen OS 2.1 update is coming soon, but hasn’t said exactly when. OnePlus stated it would be mid-September in an earlier forum post, but it hasn’t arrived yet. Version 2.1 will reportedly bring some more significant improvements, but for now, most OnePlus 2 owners are just looking for fixes to the current problems.
